Pesticides used on Fruits and
Vegetables
Most older
pesticides, like dieldrin, have been banned for uses on plants that provide
food. Others are still being used today, but some have been found to have
traces of toxic chemicals such as arsenic, used in wars as a poison, dieldrin,
which is banned, DDE and dioxins. These chemicals can kill people, and have
been used to kill people in the past. Some of the fruits and vegetables that
have been found in the top 25 foods for pesticide poisoning are; tomatoes,
peaches, apples, peppers, grapes, lettuce, broccoli, strawberries, spinach, pears,
green beans, and celery.
